6 MONTHS!

Surrounded by some of his favorite toys these days Isaac was enjoying his 6 month b-day! :)  The last 6 months have flown by and it is such a joy to see him grow and learn new things daily. 

This is what happens to everything that Isaac gets his hands on! :)

O.K. so we have been missing everyone lately and we just want you all to know that our doors are always open for visitors and we have a great guest room (just re-arranged it)...we know we are in the middle of Kansas but can we bribe you with an adorable 6 month old!?

Sweet Potatoes Anyone?

Isaac is doing awesome and eating like a champ!  We continue to introduce new foods and sweet potatoes are a winner so far! :)  He is almost 6 months (those pictures will be posted on Friday...so check back) and he is learning new things daily!  Lately, he likes to roll when Mommy and Daddy aren't looking and it's amazing how far he is getting...he has the biggest smile when we are surprised and say "how did you get there!?"  Oh, it's a whole new mobile world!:)

WSU & New Stoller OPS

We know what people mean when they say "this is the best age" wherever their child is at.  At 3 months he was fun because he was becoming more interactive and now at almost 6 months Isaac is so adorable we can barely stand it!  He is at the age when he LOVES to smile and will look at a stranger till they will look back at him...then he can show off his bottom teeth with the biggest smile ever....yep, his 2nd bottom tooth has FINALLY come in!  Mommy was definitely noticing the 2nd tooth arrival more than the first....this time it was really affecting his sleep and just 2 days ago it broke through and the last couple of nights has been bliss!! :)  We are loving this age but realize that 9 months will probably be "the best" too! :)

We got Isaac a new umbrella stroller since we have some trips planned in the next couple of months and we thought it would be good to have one to take on the plane...we still LOVE OUR BOB STROLLER but it is a little to big to take traveling (bummer) so we got a new "used" one on Craig's List and this is our first day checking it out...it works pretty well but we have been spoiled with the BOB (yes, I will admit I (Kelly) am obsessed and will tell anyone that is in the market for a stroller about my obsession). 

Kelly went to WSU (Washington State University) so this is some gear that Grandma Nadine and Grandpa Gary got for Isaac for Christmas!  He is such a cutie and wears his maroon/silver & white well! :)  Go Cougars!

Big food week!

Isaac had a big week...he started solids!!  The Dr. had said to start sometime around 4 months or when he seemed ready.  When he started to be interested in what we were eating we knew it was about time. :)  So this last week we made the big step to rice cereal....he gobbled it down and we are ready to move on soon...avocadoes and sweet potatoes here we come!

Yummy!  Like nursing he caught on right away...we had read to have patience because it can take a while for some babies to get the hang of it and to get the food down...even trying to go slow he literally was done in minutes!  

That was good...when are we going to do it again?

We also got him a high chair so he can sit at the table with us.  He is almost ready for it but he is still a little wobbley....it won't be too long! :)

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!  We can't believe that it is already 2009!  We look forward to a great year and we know it is going to be a big one...we are looking forward to Isaac sitting up on his own, getting more teeth, walking and turning the BIG 1! WOW!  We also can't wait to meet our new little cousin due in Feb.!  

Our holidays have been great.  We have been able to relax (is that a word usually associated with the holidays) and enjoy our new little family.  Marc has just gotten a new job at work and we needed to stay around here so that is just what we have done.  We had a funny New Years Eve because we decided that we wanted to get out and a movie sounded fun.  We asked each other...do people go to movies on New Years!?  Well, we are in a small town and we don't feel like there is to much to do so they must!  We decide to go to the late showing (we figured Isaac would be out cold) and we had all these back-up plans because we didn't want to disturb those around us.  We get to the movie theater and there are NO cars and so we go in and the 15 year old selling tickets was like "are you sure you want to see a movie, it will go after midnight?!"  We said "YES" and so we go in and we are the ONLY ones in the movie...no worries about Isaac and we enjoyed the movie "Marley and Me" ! Our question was also answered...people around here DON'T go to the movies on New Years Eve! :)
