Playtime with Daddy

Isaac and Daddy had fun hanging out on the bean bags yesterday! Isaac is also 14 months old today so be on the look out for new pictures soon! :)

Isaac says HI & BYE to you!

This is a fun video that Marc took of Isaac at dinner the other night. Isaac is a sponge these days a learning new things all the time. He is starting to say more words on-demand...the 2 main ones are Mama and Dada. He tends to say Dada more and Marc loves it! :) He is really good at signing "all done" and at waving.

Weekend playtime!

We have been on a great blogging roll but took a blogging break over the weekend to go to a marriage conference offered by the Army called "Strong Bonds". If you might remember we did something similar a few months back and went the "Great Wolf Lodge". This time it was at a hotel in the great capitol of Topeka. It was a nice weekend with free lodging, free food, free childcare and a great time to connect as a couple and as a family. Isaac continues to be great with other people and the childcare workers always say how sweet he is. They also told us that each time they gave the kids a snack Isaac has to go and take something out of each of their bowls and then he can eat out of his (plus what he got from them)...the guy doesn't want to miss out on anything especially yummy snacks! :)

He was trying to make some phone calls in the hotel room and was disappointed no one was on the other line.

There was a little fall festival next to the hotel and we went and played on the hay bails....what did Isaac find and is so focused on?

A pine cone! Doesn't look like it is tasting so good. :)

Here is one of the toys that he was loving playing on in the childcare room...he REALLY loves to climb and even took a couple of steps over the weekend...it was very quick and we couldn't get it on video! :)

Thursday naptime & playtime

We have been busy bees today. We just put Isaac down for the night and now I have some laundry that is calling my name! :) I took off part of Isaac's bumper so that could wash his sheet and this is how he took a nap....

One of his favorite playtimes continues to be his bath....he just loves it and he also loves chewing his rubber duckies. :)

He also loves throwing toys OUTSIDE the bathtub. :)

Wednesday playtime

So today's playtime is what we are have been doing every Mon. and Wed. morning for the last few weeks....a Mommy & Me swimming class. We have had a lot of fun doing it and Isaac does a great job in the water. He is really good about going under water and we have been trying to learn baby water survival techniques (like swimming back to wall if he falls into the water). Today was the last class but we are going to sign up for another one in a month or 2. They have a "storytime" at a local library that we are going to start going to.

Here is Isaac getting his "Certificate of Completion" award from our teacher, Abby! The thing that went DIRECTLY into his mouth is his swimming "medal". Taste good Isaac? :)"Yummy!", he says!!

Tuesday playtime

This week is about some of the playtime things that I am up to...I like to play! One of my favorite things is to sit on my frog and hit the buttons to play music. Sometimes Mommy or Daddy will put on a "Baby Sign" or "Praise Baby" DVD on and the frog is my favorite place to sit and watch it!

Mommy was getting ready this morning so I was watching a little "Praise Baby". Check out my new camo overalls...I really like them....thanks Grandma Nadine!

I was trying to get it to rock and back and forth and I was laughing! :)

Monday playtime

This is what I love to do these days...

I first take every single piece of tupperware out of the drawer and then I like to climb in and out of it...

and then do it again and again....:)

We often get the question of whether Isaac has started walking yet and he hasn't...we will be sure to post a video as soon as he does!! :) He is a huge fan right now of the "up on the knees" crawling. As many of you remember he was very into the "army low crawl" for about 5 months. Around his first b-day he started crawling up on his knees and now he does it with a speed that is amazing...many people comment on how fast he goes! :) He does enjoy walking if you are holding on to his hands but don't dream of tricking him and letting go because he doesn't like it! :)

We mentioned before that he is pretty good feeding himself with a spoon...well, this morning he was using a fork and he was so excited about the quiche that Mommy made he was making sure ALL OF IT made it in!!! :)

Isaac continues to be such great eater! He has shown a ton of independence lately and insists on feeding himself. He is getting better with using a spoon and you just never know how much you are going to find on the floor! :)

Isn't this too cute?!...we saw Isaac crossing his fingers this morning when we were out on a walk.

We got to hang out this morning with Isaac's friend, Eli, they are the same age so when they are together you get a feeling what twins would be like...a lot of fun but both of them running (or in Isaac's case crawling VERY fast) in opposite directions!:) Isaac is asking Eli "Whatcha doin' over there?"

Here they are just hanging out while we walked! :) They look pretty chill!

Monday picture

Isaac has a ton of great pictures but we are just LOVING this one right now! He looks so happy and he is wearing a great looking shirt...thanks Grandma June!

He was sick last week so we took him to the Dr. and the only fun thing about that is we have new stats....

he is now 32" tall

& 23 lbs!

He is growing so fast!

He is feeling better this week and the Dr. said he looked good and his ears were good...we were worried that he might have an ear infection. Isaac is crawling everywhere soooo fast and being sick doesn't really slow him down much! :) His new thing is to throw everything he can find into the bathtub....I mean everything! Today he also started clapping. I was singing a country song to him (yes, he doesn't seem to mind my horrible voice) and I was clapping and he started clapping too! We are going to try to post a cute picture every day this week so be on the watch-out!

KC Royals

On Labor Day we went to the KC Royals' baseball game and we had a great time!! They have a huge ballpark with an awesome kids area...they have a carousel, putt-putt golf and cool water fountains. Isaac did great but we had to cut his nap short to catch the game and so he was REALLY tired by the time we left. Here he is as we were going into the stadium...very excited!

This is one of the few pictures where we are sitting...Isaac loves it when we hold his hands and he can walk up and down the stairs of the stadium. :)
What is he checking out??
The baseball game of course! We had great seats since it was half price day for military so we went for the good ones.
We had to take this picture since my sister Brenda is really good friends with Willie Bloomquist and he now plays for the KC Royals (he was with the Seattle Mariners). I know him because of Brenda and I graduated HS with his older brother Joe. He is #8. :)

13 months!

We have decided to keep up the monthly pictures for a while because it is so fun to look back at this picture:

So much has happened in a year!!
At 13 months Isaac is:

-Having fun! He loves his toy balls and is pretty good about throwing them back!

-He has a basketball hoop in the bathtub and he throws his balls successfully in...a basketball player on our hands??

-He continues to be tall...he is 31.5" (90th percentile)

-He is a slender guy at about 22 lbs. (25th percentile)

-He has begun to sign (we are using some baby sign language with him) back to us and our favorite sign is "all done". He even said the words "all done" to Uncle Jon...cool, huh?!

-He can also sign milk.

-He still goes to bed at 8 and most days makes it to 7 or 8 in the morning. That ROCKS! :)

-He is adjusting well to our new home in Leavenworth, KS and we have been taking swim lessons and we just started a tumbling class last week.

-He has made some new friends his age and that has been fun!

-He has such a great personality and is so easy most of the time...we know we are VERY blessed. :)

1st haircut

Little guy has been sporting this "golden locks" hair-do style and Daddy said it had to go....it was very mullet-like. Daddy went to the store and bought some clippers...although he may need more practice as we will see in these pics. :)

It was tough to get our little squirmer to sit still for too long. He kept turning to see what Daddy was doing, so we had to hold his cheeks and work fast...thanks Ashleigh for the help!

Opps! Isaac has a rapper cut...see the blade marks??? Look closely above his left ear.:-)

Mommy decided to see what she could do to help with what was becoming "a hair situation"!

Overall, it turned out OK and Isaac seems pretty happy and quite excited to show off his new hair-do!:)

Vegas, baby!

Here we are at the famous Las Vegas sign! Our driver on the way to the airport wanted to take us down the strip since I (Kelly) had never been there and he also stopped by the sign so we could get a picture. It was kinda fun to get a personal tour of the area. :)

The place we stayed at had a beautiful pool and so we got some good hang out time in it! Believe it or not it was August in Las Vegas and the weather was only in the 80's the 2 days we were there and overcast. It was delightful and even the pool felt a little cold!

How about a tough-guy look from Isaac!

Here are Marc and I in front of some of the beautiful landscaping at the resort right after the wedding ceremony. This Marriott resort had everything and there was really no reason to leave...it had great pools, resturants, spa and casino. We went crazy and tried the penny machines and won $3.80 cents! WOW! :)

This picture is a little fuzzy but we just love Isaac's smile in it and he looks like he had a very FUN weekend!
