Beginning of Colorado Vacation

We have been crazy busy over here!  We have spent the last couple of weeks packing out our Junction city house, trying to rent it (yes, we found someone), getting that house cleaned, having a short vacation to Colorado and then coming to Leavenworth to set up a new house here.  We have been VERY busy unpacking the boxes and getting ready for house guests at the end of the week...believe it or not Isaac will be 1 YEAR OLD in a few short days and so we have family coming into town!!!  We still can't believe that it has been a year since we were at the hospital having Isaac!  :)  Also, today is our 7 year anniversary and that is hard to believe as well!!!  I feel so blessed that I am married to an incredible man and father!

  

So now on to catching up with pictures of our trip.  This is how we began our Colorado adventure....

Does anyone recoginze what we are in?  The inside of a tow truck of course!!!!  Yep, we started our trip broken down about 70 miles down the road.  Uh Oh.....after a very long day and not being able to find an available rental car within a 100 miles of us we drove to Kansas City (PLEASE NOTE: KC is the opposite direction of Colorado) to pick up my sister's car at the Kansas City airport....we are soooo thankful that it was there and she was gracious enough to let us borrow it while she is visiting our family in Washington. 
Here is what Isaac was wanting to do the whole time in the tow truck....:) Yes, that is the stick shifter & he must have wanted to take over the driving of the BIG TRUCK!
You may also wonder why we have a picture of a car with a dent in it on our blog?  (it's fixed now Brenda) Well, if our car breaking down wasn't enough the BOBCAT (the animal) that we hit with my sister's car literally put a little dent in our trip.  Shortly after this we got in the worst thunderstorm in our life and so we pulled over at the next town to get a hotel room.  We figured that God was telling us something in the first 12 hours of our trip, so we got the hint and got off the road.  In the morning with no rain in sight we continued on to our first stop Colorado Springs...

Because of the big delay in our trip we only got to spend a few hours in Colorado Springs with our friends from Italy Jon & Rebecca Post and their girls Emma and Reece before we headed to Vail (we had reservations we couldn't change).  We were able to come back and spend a night on our return...more of that in our next post...

Packing Up

What do you do with an almost 1 year old while your house is getting packed up and there is stuff everywhere??...hang out in a box of course!!  Here is Isaac having a great time! :)

Finally...4th of July pictures!

We are FINALLY packed up from our Junction City house and it feels so good to be done!!  We are now in Colorado on a little vacation...it is so nice to get away and enjoy the mountains.  We will have a post soon on our adventures to get to Colorado...it's a miracle to be here! :)  First, here are pictures from the 4th of July.

Here are the boys checking out the parade.  We had a fun time that afternoon having some of the people that Marc worked with over for a grill-out at our house. 

We then hung out the rest of the day with our friends Matt & Elizabeth from Church.  Here they are after they won this liter of Dr. Pepper. It was a great day and it was fun watching fireworks from our backyard!

Pre-4th of July fun!

I am finally getting to the computer to update our blog.  The house is a mess and about half of it is in boxes right now.  I am "watching" the packers and there is only so much you can do so I am catching up on a little computer time while keeping an "eye" on what's going on around me. I am not sure if many of you have experienced a move but it is the most uncomfortable thing trying to keep an "eye" on what's going on and not making everyone feel uncomfortable. :)  The joys of moving. :)  Isaac is with friends today and I am sooooooo thankful...thank you April!!!  He is such a mover and groover that he would be EVERYWHERE!  :)

There was a festival here in town called Sundown Salute over the 4th of July weekend.  It goes from Thurs.-Sun.  Here are a few pictures of when we went on the 3rd.  They had lots of things to look at and Isaac had fun.  I will hopefully get the pictures of the 4th up soon too! :)

We started out at the petting zoo. The shoes were missing here but we quickly got them back on his feet! :)  They had lots of fun animals to look at.  Isaac was all about getting the horns of this poor little goat.
We then went a tried out some hats and Isaac enjoyed checking out the mirror.  We found out after taking the picture that it was "not allowed" without purchase...opps!  We thought it was cute and since we are having a Cowboy theme 1st b-day party for Isaac we went ahead and got the inexpensive hat.
Next was checking out the park and walking around.  Isaac has been walking (with our help) and newest thing is that he will walk just holding one hand.
Here is our VERY tired little guy on our way home!  He did awesome and we all had a lot of fun at the festival!

11 months, WOW!

You guys are in for a treat because I've been moving and grooving all around.  Here I am outside with our plants and on the porch.

Yep, I'm 11 months old & I like doing things myself.  I can eat Cheerios by myself.  Mom & Dad cut up fruit and I like to eat Mango, Pears, Apples and most recently grapes.  I also like avocados when they are cut up into bit size pieces....that mashed stuff...yuck!

Here I am sitting on the porch.

I am crawling these days more and more on my hands & knees but I still like that military low crawl.  I am also walking everywhere (with a little help).
