1 Month Old!!

4 WEEKS!

Isaac hasn't been a big fan of baths but last night he decided to chill out and enjoy it!  It was a much better experience for all of us! :)

Isaac is 4 weeks old today and growing fast!  He continues to be a good sleeper and loves to cuddle up!  This picture is of him sleeping on Marc's lap and I just love what he does with his arms.  He is enjoying his Taggies dinosaur and blanket...thanks Uncle Jon and Uncle Erik!!

Outings

We have been able to go on a couple of small outings and use some of our awesome 

baby equipment! Marc loves gadgets and baby equipment is no exception!:)  Isaac seems to be a fan too and we all love our BOB stroller and baby Bjorn carrier! The minute we put him in either its lights out!:)

WEEK 2

Just in time for his 2 week Dr. appt. Isaac's cord falls off!  Now it is time for some real baths!:) Isaac's 2 week appt. went great.  Kelly had been a little worried that maybe he had not gained enough weight (they wanted him to be at his birth weight).  Well, we all had a good laugh at the appt. because his birth weight was 8lb 1 oz and he weighed in at 8 lb 10.25 oz!  They figured he had gained about 2 oz. a day since his last appt....no worries on weight here!:)

Isaac Family Time

It has been fun getting to know Isaac!  He is such a sweet baby and we enjoy gazing at him. He spends a lot of time these days sleeping and couldn't look more content.  He had his 1 week appointment on Wednesday and he did great...his weight was right where it needs to be...guess the breast feeding is going well!:)

Family Time...Go Army!

Grandma Nadine (Kelly's Mom) has been here almost 2 weeks and has been a huge help. She even helped organize closets today...is that love or what!:) Grandpa Norm and Grandma June (Marc's parents) were able to come out for the birth and we were blessed with incredible meals all weekend. The day we came home from the hospital Grandma June made an incredible turkey dinner...it was just like Thanksgiving and is a reminder of all that we have to be thankful for!

WEEK 1

Isaac is doing great!  Here are a few pictures over the last couple of days.  He loves his hands and we have been super happy with the baby bjorn bouncy seat that we got...he likes it too! The 2nd one is of him wide awake...isn't he cute?! This 3rd one is us coming home from the hospital.  He was not liking the car seat at first but fell sound to sleep the minute we put him in the car. :) He is almost a week old and we have his first Dr. appt. tomorrow afternoon!

ISAAC IS HERE!

We are excited to annouce the birth of Isaac Dorian Shafer on July 30th @ 11:25 PM. He weighed in at 8 lbs 1 oz and 23" long (we have a tall one on our hands)!!  We ended up being in the hospital till this morning (Saturday). We didn't have internet service to post a blog (sorry for the delay in the news).  

After 24 hours of labor and 45 minutes of pushing and with Isaac face up (very painful) he was not going anywhere and the Dr. felt that c-section was the next step.  So after a little extra recovery time we are home now and enjoying getting to know Isaac.  He is a precious gift from God!
