Mykonos

Stop 3 of 4---Mykonos, Greece

We got there 1st thing in the morning.  It was totally different from the other 2 stops.  No hiking involved! :)

This is the main town of Chora.

It did share the beautiful white architecture of Santorini.

This is the 1st stop that we brought the kindle with us and found free wi-fi.  It was SO good to look at the blog and see the kiddos doing so well with Grandma June and Uncle Jon! Yea for the beauty of modern technology & gadgets :)

Next stop was off to the beach.  We took a taxi across the island to this pretty beach.  It was the end of the season and the weather wasn't super warm that day so there was barely anyone out there. However, Marc was lovin' the ability to swim in the Greek waters. Mykonos is known for its S.C.U.B.A. Diving & this beach had one of the premier dive shops.

We had fun and Marc picked up this pirate shirt from a local dive shop.  Isaac LOVES pirates right now so Marc got this in honor of him. :)
After we were done at the beach we went to get a taxi back and that was when we found we could be in a little trouble.  We couldn't find anyone to call a taxi for us.  Finally, we found a closed hotel that had a worker there & he called one for us...after a little wait we went back to the main town to get this...

Yummy, GREEK frozen yogurt!

After some yogurt we went and got some GREEK food...see a theme here?  When in Greece, do everything GREEK! :)

Mykonos is known for these wind mills.
...and narrow streets that you could get lost in! We were told by the cruise tour coordinator that these street layouts were intentional to confuse the Pirates that would come ashore & raid the town.  We did experience a little, scenic tour ourselves but then Marc's "Kell-Kell" kicked in -- Yes! She is related to the popular Tom-Tom. :)

It was fun to walk around and enjoy a new adventure.

Everything was so, very pretty!

More tomorrow....
